I’m loving the Close to My Heart Jackson Workshop on the Go! It has great masculine and outdoor colors and patterns great for hiking and camping layouts. Or how about a trip to Mesa Verde or Arches National Park!? The layouts came together quickly and I was impressed with the amount of paper and embellishments I had left over. Not to mention the great stamp set that you can only get with the Workshop on the Go (I love the eagle stamp!).
The Jackson Scrapbook Workshop on the Go kit (G1094) comes with
1 – My Reflections™ Jackson Paper Packet (X7195B)
1 – My Acrylix® Jackson Workshop Stamp Set (D-size)
3 – Cardstock Sheets (Colonial White)
1 – Jackson Assortment (Z3071)
1 – Brave Enamel Shapes (Z3073)
1 – Instructional Brochure
The instructional brochure provides cutting diagrams and placement instructions the main layout. This first layout can be spruced up with the Cricut® Artbooking collection (Z1906) – this cartridge can also be used to cut out the stamps outlined in red. No worries if you don’t have a Cricut – the brochure has instructions for the layout without the Cricut images.
This layout is even easier using Cricut Craft Room – simply use layers for each of the different paper patterns. Then cut them all at once. Also, using Cricut Craft Room you can place the images closer together and save paper.
After cutting the shapes, the instructions provide easy to follow directions for inking paper pieces, stamping, and assembling the layout. Embellish as shown or add your personal touch. The instructions show the stamped image ‘So Happy Here’ with 2 colors on the same stamped image. I’m new to stamping, and wasn’t able to figure out how to make this work, but the image still looked great in a single color.
Once you get the main layout done, use the leftovers to create the additional layout. You can get the directions from my website gerri.ctmh.com (look under Products – Workshops on the Go – then find the link for the Jackson layouts) – or – shoot me an email (firstname.lastname@example.org) and I can send you a copy.
The main and additional layouts came together both quickly and easily. Now they’re just waiting for the pictures. We were heading to City of Rocks, Idaho for a rock climbing weekend with our Boy Scout Troop –a perfect weekend to capture with the Jackson Workshop, right?! Well, not exactly… shortly after we arrived, it started to rain. By 4 AM it was snowing (I know this because I woke up to our tent on top of me from the weight of it!). Since BSA rules (and common sense) don’t allow us to climb with wet equipment, we packed up and headed home. So – no awesome pictures of playing in the outdoors. At least when I do get the pictures – I’ll have the perfect layouts to put them in.
