My Crush Cards & Layouts

Close to My Heart has some awesome My Crush books – these are great little albums that come with pre-printed cardstock weight papers in a spiral bound book.  Each of the 10″ X 7″ My Crush books have a coordinating stamp set and assortment of journaling cards, stickers and envelopes.  I love the portability of these albums as they are more informal and I don’t need a lot of extras.  When we were camping last weekend, I just took a paper trimmer, some adhesive, a My Crush book and coordinating assortment and a journaling pen.  It was great to be able to work on it while the boys were off fishing.

Today I’m going to show another way to use the My Crush books.  While they are perfect for on-the-go scrapbooking, you can also take them apart and use the individual pages on traditional layouts, cards or other home decor.  This month I’m using the My Crush for Her book which includes a combination of printed cardstock weight paper, velum, and mini page protectors.

Each of these projects uses 1 My Crush for Her book and you’ll have left overs for other projects.  IMG_1202We made 5 cards using Sorbet, Glacier, and Whisper cardstock and inks.  We also added some gold shimmer trim and sequins for the finishing touches.  What a great way to wish someone well today!  The sentiments are great for anytime – You Make Me Smile, You Make Me Happy, Life is Grand, Life is Better with You!

I absolutely love these layouts!  From 1 My Crush book – we have 2 double page layouts.  The mc-page-2first – You’re so Amazing holds 4 pictures using one of the My Crush mini page protectors (the picture on the right has another layered underneath.  This layout uses Flaxen, Lagoon, and Sorbet.  I could see this used for a beautiful wedding layout.

The second layout uses a Whisper background with Glacier photo mats and the vellum ‘You’remc-page-1 Loved’ page.  You could easily add more journaling area if you wanted to document more of your story with words.  How fun is this layout for a family photo shoot or a family vacation.

If you’re interested in either of these projects, feel free to contact me at to find out what supplies are needed and to get a copy of the instructions.  Contact me soon, as the My Crush for Her book is on the retiring items list!

Hope you have an awesome day!

Enjoy! ~Gerri
