Here’s another December birthday card with just a hint of Christmas. I used the Thoughtful Flowers Stamp of the Month set and stamped what looks like a poinsettia in Ruby ink.
I used one standard image and two 2nd generation images (the ones that go off the cardstock). This is a great way to add color/dimension when you don’t have a lot of stamp pad colors. Simply stamp the image once on a scrap paper and then stamp the image where you want it – since you’ve removed some of the ink, the 2nd image will be lighter. Depending on how dark the ink is that you start with – you can even do a 3rd or 4th generation image.
This card uses some of the less wintery/Chrismasy papers. The background is like 3D boxes. Then we have the wood grain, and the stamped piece is matted with what looks like gold music notes (not metallic).
I stamped Birthday Wishes (From the retired Bitty Birthday set) in Fern, added some Red Shimmer Trim and some Red Glitter Duos (also retired) for a little bling.
Did you know you can get the Stamp of the Month for just $5?! This is a D-sized stamp set, so it retails at $17.95. But if you spend $50 – you can get this thoughtful set for just $5. This month’s Stamp of the Month is full of flowers that can be colored in with pencils or watercolors. It has sweet sentiments like ‘thinking of you’, ‘thank you’, and ‘Best Wishes’. Remember – this stamp set is only available during December 2016. You can get yours at gerri.closetomyheart.com
