Have you seen the beautiful card kit CTMH created for National Stamping Month?! It is absolutely beautiful!!

This fabulous From the Heart Cut Above card kit comes with all the pieces you need to make 12 interactive cards with a foil frame and hidden sentiments! All you need to add is ink pads and your personal touch.

This is the first card I made – I love how these colors come together. Just to clarify – I did not just break out the stamp sets and start creating – I started off by practicing with different color combinations –  Blossom, Pixie & Pomegranate, Thistle and Pansy for the flowers. Fern and New England Ivy for the leaves. I tried Flaxen for the leaves, but it didn’t work with the other colors.

The From the Heart kit comes with this beautiful E-sized stamp set which lets you layer different pieces and colors to create these beautiful flower bouquets. It includes frequently used sentiments – Happy Birthday, Thinking of You, Thank You & Congrats.

The larger stamps are a great addition to the smaller sentiments or some can even stand on their own (You’re in my heart, I’m so happy for you, sending special thoughts & wishes)..

Not so stampy – you say??  No worries – this stamp set is still a gem!

This is just a simple 3×3 card I made with a single flower. This stamp set is so versatile! Still too much? Keep looking…

This one uses the larger sentiment stamped in black. I then colored in just the flower with water color pencils. You could use regular colored pencils or just leave the black and white image. For the inside – I stamped the Happy Birthday, two parts of the stem in New England Ivy, the leaves in Fern, then the triple flower and the single flower each with Thistle. Much more simple – but still just as beautiful.

And here’s one more…

For this one I stamped the flowers on the upper piece, then water colored the flower on the inside. I copied one of the cards on the packaging for the kit (see, you don’t even have to come up with your own ideas!)

In case you’re worried about mistakes – here are a few tips – I’m going to try to do a Facebook video to show some ideas, also.

  1. Practice stamping before making your cards.
  2. Create a ‘cheat sheet’ that shows different color combinations so you don’t have to guess.
  3. When you separate the card pieces from the background paper, there is enough paper left over to create another top piece or use this paper for practice stamping.
  4. There are step by step instructions on the Close To My Heart Blog
  5. Make a mistake? No problem – that’s what embellishments are for!
    1. See the Pixie cardstock on the first card I made? Yep – that’s covering up a water spot where I sat the card on a baby wipe.
    2. The twine & bow as well as the Bitty Sparkles on the last picture – – ink spots!

This set is available only during September to celebrate National Stamping Month (or while supplies last). You can purchase the card bases and envelopes for $13.95 or the E-sized stamp set for $29.95 (these are full retail prices). OR You can get the whole kit for just $34.95 (that’s like buying the stamp set & getting the card pieces for just $5!).

You might want to pick up some extra card bases – I’ve seen these cards used with so many more options than just this stamp set – Halloween – Family Christmas picture – so many options.

I hope you’ve enjoyed these fun cards. Watch my Facebook page for info about a workshop (I’m still ironing out the schedule) probably in October.

Enjoy!
