Good morning! I hope you’re having a fantastic week. I thought I’d head back into the Christmas fun today with some layouts from the Beary Christmas Scrapbook Workshops Your Way.
As always, the Scrapbook Workshops Your Way include everything you need to create 3 double paged layouts – plus you’ll have plenty of left overs for cards or additional pages. One of the great things about these kits is the flexibility. You can use the guide with the layouts as designed, make changes to fit your pictures or style, or go completely into your own direction. I’ve had a lot going on lately – so I’ve stuck with the pre-designed guide – this is a lot easier on my brain.
This layout was originally designed with 4×6 portrait photos. Since I like to include more pictures on my layouts, I swapped out three of the 4x6s for 3×4 landscape photos. I just love that first picture of the ornaments – this was my son’s first time helping to decorate the tree – and this was how he put them on the tree.
This layout is just like the design – but if you don’t want those poinsettias – this is an easy paper to flip and you’ll have bears & trees on the border. Both options look great!
Sorry I don’t have a picture of the second option – but here’s a picture of the paper. See how easy it is to just flip the paper to the other side – I love when I can make a design change without taxing my brain too much.
I know I just said I like to put more pictures on my pages – and here’s this layout with just 4 – BUT if you keep scrolling, you can see that this layout is great for adding Pocket Plus Memory Protectors.
For this layout I used Design 3 for the 3×4 photos and Design 1 for the 4×6 photos. This is a great place to use the cut apart pocket cards that come with each paper packet.
Well – there you go – another Christmas in the books – this one is from 2004 – but at least it made it to the books!
Thanks for stopping by! Enjoy!
Welcome to our Featured Paper Blog Hop! We will be showcasing items from our Beary Christmas creative collection with various projects from talented Close to my Heart consultants. If you are visiting from Kathleen’s blog then you are on the right track, if not please start with our Blog Hop hostess, Carol. Next check out the great post at Ramona’s Art Buffet!
I originally made this card for my October card class with the Falling For You papers – but I wanted to play in this month’s Featured Paper Blog Hop, so I remade it with Beary Christmas! This is such a quick and easy card featuring the October Stamp of the Month – Christmas Tunes.
I stamped the wreath in New England Ivy, then added the bow and ribbon in Cranberry. I stamped the O Holy Night ribbon on a scrap of White Daisy and then fussy cut it so I could pop it up with 3D Thin Foam tape. Then, I added a couple of Bitty Sparkles for an extra touch.
Here’s another option where I colored in the holly berries and leaves with Shin Han Touch Twin markers (I used Vivid Green & Carmine). On this one, I also used the Beary Christmas dots in silver (they are bigger than the Bitty Sparkles, so they were a better bet to cover up the smudge I left there!).
The card measurements –
- 4 x 5 1/4″ diagonal stripe
- 3 3/4 x 4 1/4″ green plaid (or New England Ivy cardstock)
- 3 1/2 x 4″ White Daisy for stamping plus a scrap for the ribbon.
- 4 1/4″ piece of holly zip strip.
Here’s the same card again in my original Falling For You design.
Thanks for stopping by today! Don’t forget to go see what amazing artwork Ramona has in store for you! Enjoy the rest of your hop!
Here are the products I used in making this card. If you aren’t currently working with a CTMH consultant, feel free to contact me or shop directly on my CTMH site – gerri.closetomyheart.com.
This is probably my favorite card from the November class. It doesn’t scream Christmas… it’s not the traditional red & green…yet it so nicely conveys what is so important to me during the Christmas season. The church I attend has Christmas Eve services. Now that my boys are old enough, we like to go to the midnight service. We always end by lighting small hand held candles, dimming the lights and singing Silent Night – it’s absolutely beautiful!
I started with the Hymns of Praise stamp set as my inspiration. I really liked how the Sapphire and Crystal Blue worked so well with the green anchor piece on the bottom. A little Silver Shimmer trim, some Bitty Sparkles… and you have the makings of a lovely card.
The new Holiday Expressions Idea Book now includes packs of coordinating cardstock for each of the My Reflections Paper Packets. This is a great way to build your stash of CTMH cardstocks while ensuring you have the colors that work with patterned B&T Duos papers. I love how CTMH makes it so easy to coordinate & get projects done quickly as well as beautifully!
My wish for you as we head into this crazy season is that along with the busy nights, the harried nights, and the try-to-fit-everything in nights that you’ll be able to take a few moments and enjoy a silent night or two.

It’s only October, but the stores are starting to fill with Christmas decorations (honestly that drives me nuts!). But, here I am with a Christmas stamp set. I had fun pairing this month’s Stamp of the Month with the Swan Lake paper which has more of a fall theme by using some of the patterned rather than themed papers. I really love this Peacock color!
For this card I use some gold embossing powder (I really need to work on my embossing techniques – but that day I was running out of time and had to go with what I had. Looks like I need to try a dryer sheet to keep away the excess powder.). I did this as a half fold card – I cut a piece of White Daisy card stock to 4 1/4 X 8 1/4. Then I scored this at 5 1/2″ so the inside & outside come together.
Usually I’ve seen these cards horizontally, but I wanted to put a square peg in a round hole, so I ended up putting it vertically.
One of the things I like about this stamp set is that each of the images has a smaller image within the swirls – holly leaves within the bell, a poinsettia in the star, candy in the stocking and stars in the present. You can also use the Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge for two of the images.
As a Stamp of the Month – this set is only available in October. You can purchase this D-sized set for $17.95 – or get it for just $5 with a $50 order. Check out my CTMH page or give me a call!
I have always struggled with Christmas things coming out before Halloween – but here I’ve been working on Christmas cards, layouts, and gifts way before Halloween (my boys have been sure to remind me of this every chance they get!)
For my November classes, we’re using Christmas themed papers called White Pines. We’ll also be using the Cardmaking and Scrapbooking Workshops on the Go.
Here are some of the cards I’ve made
And one of the Workshop on the Go layouts (I changed the right side a bit because I wanted to be able to add more pictures than shown on the original layout).
The fun part – is that I have another whole month to play with these papers & create some more fun Christmas (or maybe not Christmas) pieces!
