After attending a fantastic Consultant Camp last month, I came away with so many amazing ideas! This is one of them. Sometimes I have ladies who want to attend my card class, but they have other commitments. I’ve decided to offer a card kit with the same 6 cards made in class, but everything will be cut and pre-stamped for you.
Each card with all the pieces and embellishments will be in it’s own envelope.
Everything is ready for you to add your adhesive and put it together.
Each month, I’ll have a page here on my blog that shows a close up of each card and assembly tips —> Cats & Bats Prestamped Card Kit
You might even get extra embellies or a free card every now and again. Or, for things like the Birthday Wishes card that had Halloween pieces – I’ll include extra pieces so you can recreate the card, but it won’t look like it’s for a Halloween birthday!
The September kit will include these cards:
The kits will cost – $12 if you’re local or $15 if I ship them to you.
Pre-order by the fifth of the month and your local order will be just $10, shipped orders will be $12.
I see this as one more way to help others create – whether you consider yourself ‘creative’ or not!
Welcome to our Featured Paper Blog Hop! We will be showcasing items from our Falling For You or Cats & Bats Paper Pack with various projects created by talented Close to my Heart consultants. If you are visiting from Haley’s blog then you are on the right track, if not you can start at the beginning with our hostess Carol. Don’t forget to check out Kathleen’s blog for more fun.
Last year I fell in love with the Birthday Sparkles (B1537) and All the Thanks (B1536) stamp sets because they were interchangeable. I could create one card and switch it up between Happy Birthday or Thank You! This year, CTMH has added to these little gems with Sending Prayers (B1563)
While looking at the Annual Inspirations I found a card made with this stamp set and some of the Fundamentals lines. I decided to use this basic design for a card with the Cats & Bats papers.
I really liked the dark and light Emerald polka dot paper, as well as the geometric lines on white. So, I paired these with one of the black patterned papers and two octagons cut on the Cricut (Emerald is 2.5″ and the White Daisy is 2 .25″) – these can be found in the basic shapes.
I offset the two octagons for a little visual variety, then finished it off with a few of the green Cats & Bats dots (Z4028) and some silver shimmer trim (Z1799)
Thanks for stopping by today! Don’t forget to go see what amazing artwork Kathleen has in store for you!
Enjoy the rest of your hop!
Here are the products I used in making this card. If you aren’t currently working with a CTMH consultant, feel free to contact me or shop directly on my CTMH site – gerri.closetomyheart.com.
Here’s a card that is great for using up scraps and so simple to create. This pattern came from the Make It From You Heart, Volume 2 pattern book
I started with 1 1/4 x 5″ strips of 3 different patterned papers. Then I trimmed those strips into 1 1/4″ squares. I rounded two opposite corners on each square, paying attention to any directional patterns, then laid them out with the un-rounded corners of 4 squares pointing toward each
I topped this off with some White Twine and tags cut using the new Thin Cuts – Basic Tags set (love these!)
Paired with the coordinating stamp set I Made This
I used retired cardstock (Slate and Whisper) on the tags (I’m in that in-between stage where I still reach for my old favorites) and then stamped in Slate and Juniper.
Seriously, the hardest thing about this card was getting the twine through the holes (I think I need stronger ‘wisdom’ glasses!)!
Other items used for this card:
Ink colors used were Fern & Flaxen
One of the things that attracted me to Close To My Heart was the exclusive Cricut Cartridges. This year’s offerings do not disappoint! The new Annual Inspirations includes a travel/get-away themed cartridge called You Are Here and three digital only collections featuring the United States, Canada, and Australia/New Zealand.
I was so excited that I was able to get the You Are Here cartridge for 50% off shortly after it was available for consultants to preveiw! (Truth be told – I get all my Cricut cartridges at 50% off through Hostess Rewards!! – check out this link to find out how).
I usually get the physical cartridge because I like to have the book of images. If you prefer the digital version – you can download the book. Both options come with this set of stamps and the Enchantment Combo cardstock pack.
Here are a few things that I’ve made this month with this fun cartridge –
I love using the images for titles or accent pieces. The ‘Wild at Heart’ image uses the 2-toned colors from the Ruby cardstock. ‘Gone Exploring’ stamped image is from the exclusive stamp set with the banner cut from the cartridge.
Here’s a closer shot of the Wild at Heart – it definitely describes my boys!
Next is a card I made for a friend going on an Alaskan cruise.
I couldn’t decide between ‘Seas the Day’ or ‘Bon Voyage’ – but this worked out with the ship & mountains.
I love that this cartridge has some National Parks badges – include a couple of my faves – Teton & Yellowstone! I’ve got lots of pictures to scrapbook in these two beloved locations!
Don’t worry if you’re less of an outdoors person and more of a luxury traveler – there are images for you as well!
This cartridge is so much fun! I can’t wait to play with it some more! I’d love to see what you create with it!
Sorry, I’ve been MIA for a few days! My boys went to Scout Camp last week & I spent the week trying to cram as many projects into those 7 days as possible, so I let this slip just a bit. Today I’m back with the new Annual Inspirations Idea Book and some artwork I’ve made with the new products.
First a couple of highlights – in this Idea Book you’ll find …
A new Cut Above Layout Kit “The Story Begins” – to tell your baby’s stories – this kit comes in either a boy or girl option plus – save 30% when you purchase an album to go with it!
Double Sided Cardstock – what? – yep – one side is the actual color and the reverse is a lighter version. Check it out here – the Wild is cut from the lighter side and the rest from the front side of a sheet of Ruby cardstock. What an easy way to add some dimension to your projects!
Speaking of adding dimension – how about some new Cricut cartridges? We have a new cartridge available in either physical or digital. Both options come with an exclusive stamp set bundle and an Enchantment combo cardstock pack. The You Are Here cartridge is great for all your travel projects – from a girls trip to National Parks – there’s lots of fun in these images.
And of course we have new Fundamentals with awesome patterns, colors & complements (including new ribbon packs!).
With all these fun new products – I’d love to see what you create!
It’s been a little while since I talked about Operation Smile – see my last post – True Love & Operation Smile Close To My Heart has been supporting this amazing organization and at Convention last month, we once again got the opportunity to see how lives are being changed (and this time there were even 2 adults who received the surgery – this was so amazing because children with a cleft lip/palate don’t live past their teens!)
During this year’s convention, Consultants raised over $44,000 to help support the mission of Operation Smile! This was done through sales of special bracelets, a 5K fun run/walk, and an artwork auction – several of the amazing CTMH consultants donated fantastic artwork for the auction.
But – you might be asking yourself – I’m not a consultant, how can I help? Well – here’s how –
- Round up – round up your order to the next dollar and that change will go to Operation Smile!
- Each year CTMH produces a special Operation Smile Stamp Set. This year’s is called True Love (D1711). For each stamp set purchased, CTMH donates $7 to Operation Smile (this set is only available for purchase at full retail prices, and so is not included in Stampaganza or as a hostess reward).
Here’s another quick & easy card using the True Love set –
- 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 background piece
- three 2 x 2 squares in coordinating colors
- 1 3/4 x 3 1/4 strip (the yellow diamonds)
- 1 3/4 x 1 3/4 square white daisy for stamping
This card is stamped with Sorbet ink and embellished with Blue Burlap Ribbon and some Prickly Pear Sequins.
Since we’re coming to the end of the current Annual Inspirations Idea Book – the True Love stamp set will only be available through the end of this month – so get yours soon!!
Here are the other products used for this card – you can find these and more at gerri.closetomyheart.com:
Welcome to our Prickly Pear Blog Hop! We will be showcasing items from our Prickly Pear Paper Pack with various projects created by talented Close to my Heart consultants. If you are visiting from Kathleen’s blog then you are on the right track, if not please start at the Prickly Pear Blog Hop beginning with our hostess Carol. Next check out Haley’s blog.
This cute card was so quick & easy! I started with a pattern from the Make It From Your Heart Volume 2 How-To-Book. This is pattern #23.
Using the Prickly Pear paper packet, I cut the following pieces:
- 5 x 1 3/4 (cactus print)
- 5 x 1/2 (green print with x’s)
- 5 x 2 (yellow diamond pattern)
- 2 1/2 x 2 1/2 (green ombre – this is the reverse side of the yellow diamonds)
- 2 1/4 square of White Daisy plus scraps for die cutting.
For the stamping, I used Sorbet, Smoothie and Tangerine ink stamp pads along with the Happy Heart Stamp Set and the Prickly Pear Scrapbooking Stamp Set and Thin Cuts bundle (Z3338).
- Stamp “Thanks from the bottom of my heart” with Sorbet
- Using the Prickly Pear Scrapbooking Set
- Stamp the small, solid flower randomly near the top in Smoothie and Tangerine
- Cut 2 of the largest flower using the Thin Cuts dies and stamp one with Smoothie and one with Sorbet.
Put it all together –
- Adhere the 5″ strips to the card as shown in the picture
- Layer the White Daisy stamped square on top of the green ombre square
- Adhere the layered squares 3/4″ from the bottom of the card and 1 1/4″ from the right edge.
- Add Blue Burlap ribbon to either side of the square (alternatively, you could run a single piece of ribbon across the full width of the card and then use 3D foam tape to raise the square above the ribbon).
- Layer the die cut flowers in the top, right corner of the stamped square. I used 3D foam tape for added dimension.
Thanks for stopping by! Don’t forget to head over to Haley’s blog next and keep progressing through the blog hop to check out all the amazingly talented ladies that are sharing their creations today!
