Woodland Wishes Christmas Cards

Today’s cards use the Woodland Wishes Thin Cuts Bundle (Z4015)  with Oh Deer! (X7214B) paper packet for a couple of quick and easy Christmas cards.woodland-wishes-thin-cuts

I’ve only recently started playing with die cuts from an embossing machine.  Previously I just used  my Cricut.  Since CTMH came out with the Thin Cuts that coordinate with stamp sets – I thought I’d give them a try.  I love my Cricut – but for making just a couple of quick cuts to add to cards – these Thin Cuts are the way to go.  Just sandwich paper between the cutting boards & the die you want to use – roll it through (I use the Cuttlebug) your machine and voila!

This first card uses the B&T Duos for the tree – so you don’t even have to stamp it – isn’t it great you can cut the dies on White Daisy and add a stamped image – or use the patterned paper for a different look.  I used a piece of the B&T Duos that has a birch bark pattern as my landscape to give the impression of clouds, snow, whatever – I like that it’s not just plain white.

The deer & star are stamped in Desert Sand, the background in Whisper, the snowflakes in Sea Glass and the ‘Merry and Bright’ in Cranberry.  I added Bitty Sparkles to the snowflakes for some shine.

This is a very easy card to make.  With just 3 cuts of B&T Duos (5 1/2 X 4 1/4, 1 3/4 X 4 1/4, and 1 1/4 X 4 1/4).  I distressed the edges of the 2 smaller pieces with Desert Sand ink, stamped the Merry and Christmas using Juniper.  The Christmas banner is lifted slightly with Thin 3D tape and then I added a Clear Sparkle.

I hope you have enjoyed these cards – these are the last of my Christmas cards for this year.  I hope you and your family have a very Merry Christmas!

Blessed Beyond Measure

Are you ready for another fantastic Stamp of the Month?  This stamp is really getting me in the mood for Fall – it has a pumpkin, maple leaves & phrases of thankfulness, gratitude & blessings.

Here’s a card I made with the Jeepers Creepers paper packet (not just for Halloween!).  It also uses the Artbooking Cricut Cartridge for the pumpkin (I cut off the extra leaves & vines at the top of the pumpkin) and leaves.

I also used it to add a saying (replacing journaling) on a Swan Lake layout.

Here is a great framed piece from the fantastic CTMH staff –

With Father’s Day fast approaching, I’ve been focusing this month on using the Jackson Paper Pack. I really like the masculine, outdoors, somewhat southwest motifs and colors. This makes these papers great for cards to give fathers or other men in your life. The main colors I’ve used for these cards are cocoa, barnred, glacier, and juniper. I’ve also used Dizzy Circles, Finding the Words, The Authentic Life, Happy to be Friends, and Just Sayin’ (May SOTM) stamp sets and embellishments.

These fun cards can be personalized for whatever the

An Easy Card

Here’s another quick & easy card using Close to My Heart Blossom B&T IMG_0810Duo’s paper, Happy to be Friends My Acrylix ® stamp set, and cardstock in lagoon and white. These are so easy, you could make several in one sitting and stamp different sentiments on them and they’ll be ready for your upcoming card giving occasions.

Supplies (assuming you have no scraps & are using a full 12 X 12 inch sheet for each):

  • 1 – sheet of Blossom B&T Duos paper  – these are double-sided, so you get 2 patterns on each sheet
  • 1 – card base or cut the cardstock to 11 X 4 1/4
  • 1 – sheet of white cardstock
  • 1 – sheet of lagoon cardstock
  • Happy to Be Friends My Acrylix Stamp Set
  • 1 X 1” My Acrylix Block
  • 2 X 2″ My Acrylix Block
  • Black Ink
  • Smoothie Ink
  • Pear Ink
  • Glacier Ink

Cutting Directions

Piece A – cut a 1 inch strip from your B&T Duo’s Blossom paper. Use the flowered side as the front. Then cut this into 5 inch pieces (you’ll have two 1 X 5 inch pieces and a 2 inch piece left over)

Piece B – cut a 3 inch strip from your B&T Duo’s Blossom paper. Then cut this into 4 inch pieces (you’ll have three 3 X 4 inch pieces). Use the patterned side up.

Piece C – Cut a 2 inch strip from the white cardstock, then cut this into 3 inch sections (you’ll have four 2 X 3 inch pieces)

Piece D – Cut a 2 ½ inch strip from the lagoon cardstock, then cut the strip into 3 ½ inch pieces (you’ll have three 2 ½ X 3 ½ inch pieces)

Assembly Instructions

Stamp your desired sentiment on Piece C.  Sponge some Glacier ink around the edges to add depth. Center Piece C onto Piece D with your preferred adhesive.

Apply adhesive to the front of Piece B along the 4 inch side. Lining up the left edges, center Piece A (flowered side up) on top of Piece B and secure. Apply adhesive to the back of the combined A & B and attach to the card.

Attach the layered C & D pieces (centered or offset – however looks best to you) Quick – Easy – You’re Done!
